In 2017, TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 celebrates its 10th anniversary, which calls for a major face-lift. The legendary Carrera is now available in a lightweight, blacked-up titanium version, paired with beige detailing and a distressed brown leather strap.

The case

This sporty chronograph is launched in 2007, and it is certainly safe to say that it stands as one of the brand’s iconic, best-selling models. In 20017, the model has been updated in celebration of its anniversary. The sporty timepiece, which measures 43mm in diameter, is now available in modern and edgy Grade 2 micro-blasted black PVD titanium, which gives it both elegant and contemporary look. The case is topped with a black ceramic bezel with classy beige tachymeter scale.

The dial

The anniversary edition of TAG Heuer’s Carrera Calibre 16 features various functional and decorative elements inspired by the vintage Carrera’s of the 1960’s. For example, the watch features a wide dial opening, two chronograph counters (at 6 and 12 o’clock) with their applied rings, and the faceted lugs that featured on the original Carrera models. The minute counter features Arabic numerals in applied black gold with beige SuperLuminova. The highly legible Day and Date window is located at 3 o’clock, while the small seconds counter appears at 9 o’clock position.

The movement

On the back, the exclusive TAG Heuer Chronograph Carrera Calibre 16 replica watch features a sapphire crystal display that reveals beautiful mechanics of the Calibre 16 movement. This automatic movement, mounted on 25 rubies, beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and provides about 42 hours of power reserve.  The watch is finished with an on-trend distressed calfskin strap with folding buckle in Grade 2 micro-blasted black PVD titanium and safety push-buttons.
